The Pageland Police Department is actively seeking motivated, qualified individuals to fill entry-level Police Officer positions. We are looking for candidates who are committed to public service, community engagement, and upholding the highest standards of integrity and professionalism.

Who Can Apply

Applicants who are not certified law enforcement officers and/or do not have prior police experience will be considered Police Officer Candidates. All applications must be submitted through the Application tab on our website.

Selection Process

If selected to move forward, applicants will go through a multi-step hiring process, which includes:

  1. Interview with the Applicant Board Committee

  2. Background Investigation

  3. Reading Comprehension Exam

  4. Medical Examination (Includes drug/alcohol screening and physical)

  5. Credit Check (Applicants must not be in default on student loans)

  6. Psychological Evaluation

  7. Interview with Department Administration

  8. Physical Abilities Test (PAT) – Must complete in 2:06 or less
    (Search “SCCJA PAT” for test details)

Probation & Training

All new hires will serve a six-month probationary period. During this time, recruits must successfully complete all required training programs, which include:

  • Pre-Academy Training (4 weeks, conducted in-house)

  • South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy Basic Law Enforcement School (8 weeks, residential Sunday–Friday)

  • Pageland Police Department Field Training Program (4–8 weeks)
